Looking for a Counsellor in Fareham?

Based in Fareham, my counselling sessions understand the uniqueness of individuals and aim to provide tailored support for each and every individual. During my talking therapy sessions, I focus on insight and awareness as the tools to help you on your route to well-being.

I would encourage anyone who is thinking about counselling to take the leap. The thought of counselling for many is a daunting one. However, many of my clients immediately realise the importance of counselling, recognising the opportunity to be truly open and honest is a massive weight off their shoulders. I pride myself on offering a safe and comfortable environment in which I provide my counselling sessions and believe it plays an important role in the success of my sessions.

Why Choose Counselling?

Counselling can help to promote more positive thinking for an individual by exploring the conscious and sub-conscious thought processes.

A counsellor seeks to support clients to identify and explore specific issues that are impacting them.  When we bring things into awareness we can effect change. There is no set timeline for counselling as it is dependent on an individual’s requirement.  My counselling sessions focus on what feels right for clients with the aim of delivering a long-lasting positive impact on wellbeing.

"Of all the counsellors I've seen (and there are a few) you have been the one who has helped and encouraged me to click my thoughts, feelings and actions into place."

"At 65 I finally faced up to the child-hood sexual abuse I had suffered.  I have worked with Carol as my counsellor for over a year and the difference in how I feel about myself is enormous."

Does Counselling Help You Get Through Your Problems?

My counselling sessions aim to provide an open and transparent environment in which to discuss the issues and experiences that are negatively affecting your well-being. Friends and family can offer valuable support for a range of issues. However, there are often barriers people experience that prevent people from speaking openly and honestly to the people they hold closest.  At Carol Steere Counselling, those barriers are removed providing a safe, non-judgmental space to explore and find appropriate support for your issues.

No matter the issue, counselling can provide a welcome avenue to help identify and explore these issues. Below is a list of just some of the issues that can be helped via my counselling:

  • Abuse

  • Anxiety

  • Bereavement

  • Confidence issues

  • Depression

  • Relationship issues

  • Stress

 More About Me

I am fundamentally a 'people' person and followed a career in public service. Through various roles I have acted as: support, advocate and campaigner for individuals and special interest groups at Government policy level (spanning some 30 years). This path led me to the training in Humanistic Counselling where I learned much about myself in the process.

Life has thrown me many challenges, some I have coped with well and some not so well! It has been through the tough times that the support of trusted relationships has been the key to helping me through.

Although family, close friends and colleagues can offer valuable support sometimes these very relationships can be the barriers to exploring honestly and openly just what we may be thinking or experiencing. This is

where the therapeutic Counsellling

relationship can help.
